OTHER ORGANIZATIONS' REPORTS:
The Sacramento
County Planning and Community Development Department's Food Desert Study
identifies the location of "food deserts" and "food
imbalance areas" in South Sacramento. Food deserts are lower
income neighborhoods that are not within walking distance of
supermarkets. Food imbalance areas are lower income neighborhoods
where fast food restaurants are closer (and more convenient to patronize)
than supermarkets.
